Our sessions are uniquely designed to fit the needs of each learner. Using multisensory methods, students are given explicit and systematic instruction in foundational literacy skills. Instruction moves at the pace of the student, practicing skills until mastery is achieved. Students receive instruction in phonological awareness, alphabet, decoding and reading, spelling, handwriting, oral language, and comprehension. We use MTA (Multisensory Teaching Approach) and Alphabetic Phonics, both of which are Orton Gillingham Programs.

Many students receive excellent dyslexia services at school, but benefit greatly from having one-on-one supplemental support. Students who are often unwilling to take a chance and expose their difficulties in front of their peers, blossom in the individual setting. Based on baseline assessments we will design lessons that support your child's current progress, and give extended practice to help them reach their reading goals.
Recommended 2-3 days per week
Not all students that struggle with reading have dyslexia. However, most students do benefit from structured literacy practices. We use methods proven effective for all readers. Using explicit and systematic instruction we teach a sequence of skills needed to become accurate and efficient readers and writers. Literacy tutoring includes instruction in phonics, fluency, comprehension, reading, handwriting, spelling, and written expression.

Young readers develop reading skills at different rates. We begin by assessing your child to locate their progress and stage in reading development. We practice and play with sounds to discover how our language works, making connections with the sounds used in speech and the letters of the alphabet. We will monitor your child's progress to move them toward reading when they are ready. Your child will also receive handwriting instruction including pencil grip and letter formation.

It can sometimes feel like you've hit a wall when teaching your child to read. It can be helpful to get another perspective and collect more data to pinpoint underlying causes for reading difficulty. To get a good picture of your child's strengths and weakness, we will review student work samples and conduct informal baseline assessments. Together we will evaluate your current curriculum choices and make an intervention plan to get your child back on track with reading progress. Email support for instructional questions and weekly check-ins to monitor progress is included.
Would you like to offer reading intervention at your private school or
co-op? As part of our traveling intervention services, we will informally assess students at-risk for reading difficulties and provide administrators and teachers with an intervention plan. We also offer on-site dyslexia therapy and small group/individual intervention using structured literacy methods.
